Approach
- A portfolio of evidence was pulled together, including the outputs from the self assessments and other relevant information structured using the Excellence Model
- This was assessed and strengths and areas for improvement were identified
- Overall 'key themes' were identified, i.e. those 'running' across parts of the organisation not just one small section
- A Findings Report was prepared and delivered for the Executive to debate and then include in future strategic and operational plans
Outcomes/benefits
- A Findings Report including 'key themes' and strengths and areas for improvement at a lower level
- The organisation's activities were tested to see how well they were aligned with its overall objectives; these alignment issues, and the key themes, added weight to the views of the internal assessors
- The organisation were able to see how 'excellent' they were against world class performance using external people which ensured greater objectivity
