We recognise that it is important to optimise your investment in your 'Excellence' journey. Not everyone needs identical levels of understanding and so we provide a range of in-house training workshops to cater for your specific needs. Please take a look at how we can help build your own expertise.
Because we believe that the Excellence model works best when it is understood - not when it is used as a 'box ticking exercise' - we almost inevitably include an element of education in any work we do. This helps ensure that new skills are transferred and that people are suitably prepared to complete the work and achieve the objectives set.
We are qualified as open market licensed trainers with the British Quality Foundation.
Awareness workshops
These workshops give insight into the Excellence Model and some basic practical exercises. Sessions will be tailored to suit your needs and the audience and may be from a couple of hours up to a full day.
The events provide a range of basic information about Excellence, with the longer sessions including more detail and practical exercises. Subject to your specific needs, workshop contents might include:

These workshops have proved extremely useful for those wishing to learn the basics before embarking further, for 'top teams' to help them decide the next steps and for Excellence 'champions'.
Assessor training workshops
For a really deep understanding of the Model (and so how to use its full potential) we recommend Assessor Training Workshops. These give a comprehensive study of the Model and self assessment, and are based on an example organisation on which to practise assessment techniques. We also give 'added value' hints and tips drawn from our experiences.
Our Assessor Training workshops are designed with a preventative approach, to maximise the benefits for attendees. Day 1 introduces the subject and prepares participants to complete the "homework" (about 20-25 hours) which is an input to Day 2. This usually takes place about one month after Day 1.
- Day 1 contents include an introduction to the Excellence Model, and how to assess an organisation through the identification of Strengths and Areas for Improvement and the structured scoring process
- Day 2 comprises syndicate and plenary sessions which build learning through teamwork and consensus and which provide an in-depth understanding of the Model and Excellence. It covers assessment techniques, site visit issue approaches and giving feedback.
Optional Day 3
Having successfully completed the assessor level training, many organisations benefit from support in applying the new knowledge to their own circumstances. We can add a 'tailor-made' day to deal with your issues in taking forward your own self assessment. This has proven to be an extremely valuable investment.
Our Assessor Training workshops have been used by organisations to build a 'pool' of experts to act as in-house assessors, trainers, facilitators or 'champions'. Some have also recognised that these workshops offer an excellent management development vehicle for existing and potential leaders because of the detailed understanding that attendees acquire about assessing a 'whole' organisation.
